Telegram Ads for iGaming Operators — Real CPC and FTD Math

📅 2026-03-29 🔄 Updated: 2026-10-04 ⏱ 9 min read ✍ Roman

Telegram's ad guidelines prohibit gambling promotion in general terms, and an account offer is not a general exception. On our self-service Euro accounts the gambling vertical measured €2.55 CPM and €0.019 per click across 175k impressions (all countries blended, 3 October 2026); its 13.19% CTR is unusually high for so thin a base, so plan on your own test. Against a Tier-1 sportsbook CPA of $120–$350 with a $200 median (Track360, 2026), one bought depositor is worth about 9,400 clicks at that price, or about 510 at the €0.35 all-niche Euro average. Two formats exist: a test launch on our infrastructure from a €5,000 ad budget, and an official gambling account from €25,000, where your creatives pass Telegram moderation and run as written.

Every sportsbook media buyer eventually asks the same question, and almost nobody answers it with numbers: how many clicks do I get for the price of one bought first deposit? That is the whole decision. Everything else — the account, the geo, the creative format — is downstream of that arithmetic.

Telegram publishes restrictions for ads and destinations, including real-money gambling. An account offer is not a general exception. Confirm the specific product, placement and target market before payment. Telegram advertising guidelines.

What a click actually costs here

We have one measured number for this vertical, and it comes with a warning. On our self-service Euro accounts, gambling and betting campaigns ran at €2.55 CPM and €0.019 per click across 175k impressions, all countries blended (3 October 2026). Next to it is the average of every Euro campaign we run, in every niche:

CPMCost per clickCTRImpressions
Gambling vertical, self-service Euro accounts€2.55€0.01913.19%175k
All Euro campaigns, every niche€2.97about €0.350.85%257.7M

Two things in that table matter more than the numbers themselves.

The first is the base. 175k impressions is thin, and a 13.19% click-through rate is unusually high — more than fifteen times the 0.85% average across all our Euro campaigns. A click price built on that CTR can move a long way once you add volume, so treat €0.019 as the cheap end of what we have seen, not as a quote. The second row is the opposite: 257.7 million impressions across every niche, where €2.97 CPM at 0.85% CTR works out to about €0.35 a click. Your own number will land somewhere between the two, and the country you target moves it more than the niche does — see the measured CPM by country.

The second is what is missing. We publish no TON figure for gambling. TON accounts are billed in TON, so their prices cannot be set beside a euro budget, and anyone who quotes you a single “Telegram gambling CPM” across both has mixed two currencies into one number.

One outside number on demand: on PropellerAds’ network, iGaming was the largest category in Telegram mini-app advertising in 2025 with 22.37% of impressions, ahead of finance at 19.67% (PropellerAds, State of Telegram Mini App Advertising 2025). That is one ad network’s inventory, not Telegram Ads, but it shows where gaming advertisers already spend.

What an FTD costs everywhere else

Now the other side of the arithmetic. Buying a first-time depositor outright, rather than buying traffic and converting it yourself, has a published price. Track360’s 2026 affiliate commission benchmark, built on its cross-program data from Q3 2025 to Q2 2026, gives these ranges:

  • Tier-1 sportsbook CPA runs $120–$350, with a $200 median — priced 20–30% under casino, because sportsbook player lifetime value is lower and the margin is thinner.
  • Tier-1 regulated casino CPA runs $150–$400, median $250, with UK-licensed brands clustering at $200–$350.

Those are the numbers your affiliate manager is working from. They are the ceiling you are trying to beat.

The only calculation that decides this

Put the two halves together. A median sportsbook CPA deal of $200 is about €178 at the ECB reference rate of 2 October 2026 ($1.1225 per euro).

  • At the €0.019 click we measured on gambling campaigns, €178 buys about 9,400 clicks. Your funnel has to turn those into more than one qualifying first deposit — a click-to-FTD rate of about 0.01%.
  • At the €0.35 all-niche average on our Euro accounts, the same money buys about 510 clicks, and the bar rises to roughly 0.2%.

So the question stops being “is Telegram cheap” and becomes a single conversion threshold: your cost per click divided by the CPA you would otherwise pay. If your landing page, bot or app turns clicks into qualified first deposits at a higher rate than that, running traffic yourself beats buying CPA. If it does not, buy CPA and stop reading.

We have no measured click-to-FTD rate to give you: a deposit happens in the operator’s system, not in the ad account. Test on one event, in one country, read your real click price, and only then scale.

Why the calendar changes the answer

Sports betting is the one gambling vertical where the measurement window is set by someone else’s schedule, and it breaks naive reporting in a specific way.

A click placed two hours before kick-off can deposit after the match has started, sometimes after it has finished. If you compare same-day deposits across a Champions League midweek and a quiet domestic weekend, the midweek will look like better traffic when all it had was a better fixture list.

Record four things separately or the comparison is worthless: event start time, the time zone you report in, the campaign delivery window, and the conversion window. Keep settled bet outcomes out of the acquisition report entirely — a settled loss is not a failed acquisition.

Pre-match, in-play and sports-information products are also three different offers. A schedule page, a prediction subscription and a real-money sportsbook are not interchangeable in a moderation review: Telegram’s §5.6 lists “tips, odds, forecasts, including sports picks” next to sports betting itself, and event interest alone does not establish permission for a gambling ad.

Agree what a first deposit means before you count one

“FTD” is not a single definition, and the gap between definitions is where disputes live. The first real-money payment into a newly registered account is the common trigger, but most programmes pay only on a qualified FTD — in Track360’s data, qualification rules such as a minimum deposit, wagering activity and a geo match gate the CPA payment on roughly four out of five regulated-market deals. KYC, the attribution window and a fraud check are usually on the same list.

Decide, in writing, before the first campaign goes live:

  1. Is the conversion a registration, a first cleared payment, a first settled bet, or a qualified affiliate event?
  2. How are repeat and duplicate callbacks handled?
  3. Which system holds the transaction identifier — yours or the operator’s?

Attribution and commercial qualification have to be agreed before anyone judges a CPA. Collect transaction identifiers in the advertiser’s own system and never publish player identities.

The two ways to run gambling here, and what each lets you say

The choice is not about budget size. It is about what your advertisement is allowed to say. In both formats the traffic goes straight to your product, with no extra click in between.

Test launch on our infrastructure — ad budget from €5,000. We prepare the ad texts and the entry that goes to moderation, and our manager launches the campaigns until they are Active. The copy is ours and deliberately soft: it reads like ”🎰 Play games in Telegram and win” and does not name the casino, the welcome bonus or the RTP. You work in the Pro Panel — this is the one format where the account is reached through the Pro Panel only. If you have never bought Telegram traffic before, this is where you find out what your click really costs and whether your funnel clears the threshold above.

Official gambling account — ad budget from €25,000. Your own direct creatives go through Telegram moderation and run as written: the operator name, real bonus figures, free-spin counts and RTP in the ad, with a direct link to your product. You get the account itself on ads.telegram.org and the Pro Panel on top. If your acquisition depends on the bonus being visible in the ad — and for an established brand it usually does — this is the format to price.

The commission is added on top of the ad budget, and the ad budget is credited to your own account. The order form shows your exact price and the payment-currency conversion before you pay. Ongoing monthly management is a separate managed service.

From brief to account access

  1. Describe the product, destination, target country, audience language and your role: operator, affiliate, agency or supplier.
  2. Review the ad budget, the commission, the payable amount, the access you get and the agreement on the order form. The account opens in 2 business days; moderation of each ad comes after that and is a separate step. On our accounts over 98% of 13,199 campaigns got a moderation decision within three hours in September 2026, all niches together; we publish no approval rate for gambling.
  3. Confirm your access: the Pro Panel in the test format, ads.telegram.org plus the Pro Panel in the official one. Keep account opening, first ad delivery and a first customer deposit as three separate milestones — collapsing them is how teams end up blaming acquisition for a payments problem.

What to verify before you commit a budget

The published gaming portfolios in our case studies report impressions, clicks, spend and platform actions in their native TON currency. A platform action is not a registration and not a deposit. Ask any supplier — including us — for an explicit event definition, the reporting window and the conversion source, and never compare TON spend directly against a euro budget.

Check the law of the market before the budget, too. Brazil is the current example: as of 3 October 2026, Medida Provisória nº 1.394/2026 — published and in force since 25 September 2026 — prohibits operating, offering, intermediating and advertising fixed-odds betting, which covers sports betting and online games, anywhere in the country, and gives ten days to take advertising down. Congress’s first sixty-day window to convert it into law runs to 23 November 2026 and can be extended once by another sixty days; if it is not converted, it lapses (Congresso Nacional). Compliance with the law of the country you target is the advertiser’s responsibility.

The numbers in this guide are checkable: the click prices come from campaigns on our own accounts, with the sample size stated, and the CPA ranges and the exchange rate are linked to their sources. Ask for the same from anyone else quoting you a gambling CPM.
