Telegram Ads Automation Engine: Set IF/THEN Rules, Let Them Run 24/7

📅 2026-04-08 🔄 Updated: 2026-10-03 ⏱ 12 min read ✍ Roman

Adsly Pro Panel runs IF/THEN automation rules on Telegram Ads campaigns after every hourly sync. A rule has conditions on what Telegram reports — views, clicks, CTR, CPM, CPC, spend, remaining budget — or on your own conversions sent by postback: leads, sales, revenue, ROAS. Each condition is measured over all time or over the last 1 to 168 hours, and conditions are joined by AND or OR. The action pauses or activates the campaign, raises, lowers or sets the CPM, adds or withdraws budget, or only notifies you. Rules apply to one campaign, a group, a selection or a whole account, on Euro, TON and Stars alike. Declined ads are handled separately by Recreate and AI Recreate, and bids by Auto CPM. There is no time-of-day condition: rules react to metrics, not to the clock.

Adsly Pro Panel lets you define IF/THEN rules for a single campaign, a group, a selection of campaigns or a whole account — on CTR, CPC, CPM, spend, views and your own conversions, measured over windows from 1 to 168 hours. Together with Recreate for declined ads and Auto CPM for bids, it takes the hourly monitoring off your team.

Why Automation Matters at Scale

At 10 campaigns, manual monitoring works. You log in twice a day, check numbers, adjust a few bids, pause a loser. Manageable.

At 100+ campaigns across several accounts it stops working. Here is what breaks down:

Overspend goes unnoticed. A campaign that spends all weekend with nothing to show for it is found on Monday. Underperformers hide in plain sight. When you are scanning 150 rows, the campaign with a 0.1% CTR blends into the noise. Declines stall delivery. On accounts we operate, 86.8% of reviewed ads end up approved on TON, 95.6% on Euro and 99.9% on Stars (all niches, 3 October 2026) — so on TON roughly one campaign in eight is declined, and each one sits dead until it is submitted again. Things happen while you sleep. A campaign can run out of budget, or start overspending, at 3 AM your time.

A rule that is checked every hour reacts within the hour, including the hours nobody is watching.

The IF/THEN Rules Engine

A rule is a condition and an action. After every hourly sync of your account, Pro Panel checks each active rule against each campaign in its scope and applies the action where the condition holds. Each rule has its own check interval, from 1 to 168 hours, and a list of campaign statuses it applies to: Active, On Hold, Stopped.

Three Levels of Rules

Campaign-level rules apply to a single campaign. Use them for an experiment or a high-budget campaign that needs its own limits. Example: IF this campaign’s CPC over the last 6 hours is above €0.50, THEN decrease CPM by 10%.

Group-level rules apply to a campaign group — a set of campaigns you define inside an account, by client, country or product. Example: IF any campaign in the “Brazil — bots” group has a CTR below 0.2% over the last 12 hours, THEN pause it.

Account-wide rules apply to every campaign in the account. These are your safety nets. Example: IF a campaign has spent over €500 and has zero conversions, THEN pause it.

A rule can also be applied in bulk to any selection of campaigns, and saved as a draft on your Adsly login, so the same rule can be added to any of your other accounts in one step.

Condition Types

Telegram Ads data — views, clicks, target actions, CTR, CVR, amount spent, CPC, CPA, CPM and remaining budget. Your conversions — if your tracker sends postbacks to Adsly: leads, conversions, sales, revenue, profit, ROAS (100% = break-even), cost per lead, per conversion and per sale, revenue per click, click-to-lead and lead-to-conversion rates. Campaign text — the title or the promoted link contains or equals a string, which scopes a rule to part of an account. Measurement window — each condition is measured over all time or over the last N hours, any N from 1 to 168 (7 days). Short windows catch sudden changes; long windows show sustained trends. Logic — several conditions are joined as “all match” (AND) or “any match” (OR).

Two safeguards matter in practice. A rule on conversions stays idle on an account that sends no postbacks: missing data never triggers it. And a campaign younger than an hour has no hourly difference yet, so windowed rules wait.

Actions

Pause or activate the campaign. Increase, decrease or set the CPM — by an amount or by a percentage. Add budget or withdraw budget. Notify only — change nothing and report the campaign in the hourly digest.

Repeating actions take an optional limit — “but never above” or “but never below” — so a rule that raises the bid every hour stops where you tell it to. Thresholds and amounts are in the account’s own currency: 5 means €5 on a Euro account and 5 TON on a TON account. A rule does not touch the CPM of a campaign that has Auto CPM switched on, and every action a rule takes is written to the campaign’s action history.

Rules Worth Setting First

The panel ships ten presets — pick one, adjust the numbers, save. Nothing is applied until you do. The thresholds below are examples, not benchmarks; take yours from your own data.

Weak creative: IF views are at least 5,000 AND CTR is below 0.3%, THEN pause the campaign. Plenty of people saw it and almost nobody clicked.

Clicks got expensive: IF CPC over the last 24 hours is above your comfort line, THEN decrease CPM by 10%, but never below a floor you set.

Barely getting shown: IF views over the last 6 hours are below 100, THEN increase CPM by 10%, but never above your ceiling.

Scale what works, cut what does not: IF CTR over the last 24 hours is above 1.5% AND the campaign has enough views, THEN add budget, with a cap on how much the campaign may hold. With postbacks the same idea runs on money instead of clicks: IF ROAS is below 100% AND spend is above your threshold, THEN pause.

Declined campaigns: on TON accounts roughly one reviewed ad in eight is declined — 86.8% approved, against 95.6% on Euro and 99.9% on Stars (all niches, 3 October 2026). This is not an IF/THEN rule but a separate switch, described in the next section.

Your own weak hours: the engine has no time-of-day condition, and we publish no “best hours” — we have no hour-of-day data across accounts. If your own hourly analytics show a stretch where a campaign’s CTR sags or its clicks get expensive, catch it with a short window: IF CTR over the last 3 hours is below your floor AND views over the last 3 hours are at least 1,000, THEN notify. Run it as “notify only” for a week to see how often it fires before you let it pause anything. How to read hourly data.

Recreate, Auto CPM, AI Texts and Bulk Operations

Rules are one part of the automation. Four other tools sit next to them:

Recreate and AI Recreate. When moderation declines an ad, Recreate submits the same ad again every hour until it is approved; AI Recreate does the same with a new AI-written text on each attempt. Auto CPM. Once an hour the panel checks whether your ad is actually shown in the channels and bots it targets. Shown in most of them — the bid goes down 10%; not shown in most — up 10%; a mixed picture — no change. A change needs two checks in a row pointing the same way, with at least three hours between changes and no more than six a day per campaign. It works for campaigns targeted at channels or bots, not at users or search. AI text generation writes up to 25 ad texts in one click, based on ads that passed moderation. Bulk operations pause, resume, edit, re-bid, top up or apply rules to hundreds of selected campaigns at once.

Rules + AI Tools: When to Use Each

Use IF/THEN rules when: You need hard guardrails that never bend — spend caps, cost-per-click ceilings. You are testing a specific hypothesis and want predictable behaviour. You manage client accounts where every action must be explainable: each one is in the action history.

Use AI text generation when: You need ad copy variations quickly. You want fresh compliant text for declined campaigns. You are scaling across several niches and need different creative for each.

Use both together (recommended at scale): Set IF/THEN rules as guardrails — spend caps, minimum CTR floors, cost ceilings. Use AI text generation for creative production and bulk tools for execution.

Results: What We Can and Cannot Show

We do not publish a measured CPA difference between accounts with and without automation rules — we have no measurement that isolates the rules. What our data does show is a correlation. TON accounts that have run 1,000 or more campaigns pay 0.69 TON per thousand impressions, against 2.71 TON for accounts with fewer than ten campaigns; 54–58% of the larger accounts run automation rules, against 4% of the smallest (3 October 2026). Large accounts are different advertisers buying different countries, so this is not proof that the rules cause the lower price.

What the rules do change is reaction time and workload. Faster reaction — rules are checked every hour, so overspend and underperformers are caught within an hour instead of within a day. Less manual monitoring — the hourly check no longer depends on someone watching a dashboard. Declined ads come back on their own through Recreate and AI Recreate. 24/7 coverage without night shifts or weekend monitoring.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I set rules across multiple accounts?

A rule belongs to one account: a campaign, a group or the whole account. To run the same rule on several accounts, save it as a draft and apply it to any of your Euro, TON or Stars accounts in one step — it is created in each of them. There is no rule that adds up spend across accounts.

What metrics can trigger rules?

Telegram Ads data — views, clicks, actions, CTR, CVR, spend, CPC, CPA, CPM, remaining budget — and, if you send postbacks, your own leads, conversions, sales, revenue, profit, ROAS and cost per lead or sale. Each is measured over all time or over the last 1 to 168 hours. You can combine conditions, for example: IF CPC over the last 6 hours is above €0.50 AND views are above 1,000, THEN decrease CPM by 10%.

Does automation work with TON/Euro/Stars?

Yes. Rules, Recreate and bulk operations work the same way on all three account types, each in the account’s own currency. Auto CPM works for campaigns targeted at channels or bots.

Can I combine rules with AI text generation?

Yes, and this is the approach we recommend at scale. Use IF/THEN rules as guardrails — spend caps, cost ceilings, minimum CTR floors — and AI text generation for the ad copy. Rules handle the monitoring and the actions; AI helps with the creative.

How fast do rules execute?

Rules are checked after every hourly sync, and the action is applied in the same pass. A rule can be given a longer check interval, up to 168 hours, and “Check now” runs an account’s rules on demand.

Is there a limit on number of rules?

The number of rules is set by your plan and shown on the plans page in Pro Panel. Because one account-wide rule covers every campaign in the account, a handful of well-chosen rules usually goes a long way.
