How to Grow a VPN Bot on Telegram: Ads, Cost per Start and Ad Copy

The cheapest way to grow a VPN bot on Telegram is Telegram Ads that open the bot directly: in Adsly Pro Panel a VPN bot start cost €0.197 across 5,748 campaigns on 20 Euro accounts, almost four times less than a bot start in other niches (€0.735). The ad bar inside other VPN bots brings the most clicks, selected channels the cheapest start, and short copy with a free trial and a clear term gets clicked best. Adsly, the official Telegram Ads partner, opens a Euro account in 48 hours from €500 ad budget + 30% commission.

People open their VPN bot the moment something stops loading, and right then an ad bar for another VPN bot sits above the chat. It gets clicked three and a half times more often than a channel post, and more than half of those clicks end with a tap on Start. That is how VPN bots grow on Telegram in 2026.

The numbers below come from Adsly Pro Panel as of 22 October 2026: 16,696 VPN campaigns from 48 ad accounts, 9.98 million impressions since 26 December 2025. Money figures use Euro accounts only: 5,961 VPN campaigns with spend on 26 accounts, 4,699,040 impressions, ads from 11 March 2026 on.

Growing a VPN bot with Telegram Ads: the short answer

  • A VPN bot start costs €0.197 (5,748 Euro campaigns, 20 accounts), against €0.735 in other niches; 59.3% of clicks become a start.
  • The main placement is other VPN bots: 98% of VPN campaigns in bots ran there, at a 3.87% CTR and €0.188 per start; selected channels give the cheapest start, €0.166.
  • Copy: a free trial with a term lifts CTR in bots from 3.37% to 4.41%; a price in the text makes the start more expensive.
  • Live in 48 hours: Adsly, the official Telegram Ads partner, opens a Euro account for €500 ad budget + 30% commission, no KYC, any crypto.

Why VPNs sell through a bot, not a channel or a website

For a bot ad, Telegram counts the Start tap as the result: the ad statistics show how many times a user “started the bot after viewing the sponsored message” (ads.telegram.org). For a VPN that is the whole funnel, and 5,748 of the 5,961 VPN campaigns with spend on Euro accounts (96%) send the click to a bot.

A bot opens wherever Telegram opens, hands out a trial key in the chat, sends setup steps for the user’s device and sells the renewal without a website. Someone who clicks a VPN ad has already decided to try it.

Euro accounts, ad opens a botCampaignsAccountsCPMCTRCost per clickCost per startClick → start

All other niches20,27945€2.330.97%€0.238€0.73532.4%

The impression costs about the same; the start costs 3.7 times less, because a VPN ad gets clicked twice as often and almost nobody drops off after the click. Cross-niche economics are in our bot vs channel comparison.

Where to show a VPN bot ad: audience, other bots or channels

Telegram Ads offers three routes: an audience by country, language and interests (the ad runs as a post in channels), a list of bots, or a list of channels. Euro accounts, VPN campaigns with spend:

PlacementCampaignsAccountsImpressionsCPMCTRCost per clickCost per startClick → startDeclined
Audience (posts in channels)1,727183,070,195€1.271.04%€0.122€0.21357.1%2.4%

Selected channels79515166,939€4.303.58%€0.120€0.16672.0%0.2%

Cost per start counts Start bot campaigns; the declined share counts all VPN campaigns per placement (1,856, 4,523 and 1,292). No account holds more than 35% of any row’s impressions.

Audience targeting is the cheapest reach, and nearly all of it is Russia: 1,712 of the 1,727 audience campaigns targeted Russia only. Monthly prices, moderation and budget for Russia are in VPN ads on Telegram in Russia.

Bots and channels cost three and a half times more per impression and get clicked three and a half times more often, so a click costs €0.11–0.12 everywhere. The whole ad bar in a bot is clickable, and t.me links open without a confirmation prompt (Telegram API). Channels give the cheapest start on eight times fewer impressions. Audience targeting shown inside bots, live since 15 September 2026, has only 83 VPN campaigns on two accounts so far; all-niche numbers are in Telegram ads in bots.

The ad bar inside another VPN bot: the main growth channel

VPN bots grow on ads inside other VPN bots. Of 3,330 Euro campaigns with spend placed on a single bot, 3,269 (98%) ran in bots whose username contains VPN, proxy or similar words: 427 of the 442 bots that carried any VPN ad. Together: 1,265,179 impressions on 17 accounts, €4.46 CPM, 3.87% CTR, €0.114 per click, €0.188 per start, and 61.1% of clicks became a start. The largest account holds 36% of those impressions. We do not publish bot names.

The viewer is trying to connect right now and is open to comparing. The host bot’s owner gets a cut: Telegram gives developers half of the revenue from ads in the chat with their bot (Bot Features), so your own VPN bot can earn the same way. VPN is 47.3% of all Euro campaigns on selected bots in our base (3,354 of 7,084).

One campaign, one bot: that is how 4,483 of 4,523 VPN campaigns in bots (99%) are built, so a weak bot goes off without touching the rest. The median VPN campaign in bots collected 149 impressions, so volume comes from the number of bots: the median account ran ads in 48 different bots, and four accounts in more than 100.

Start bot, Mini App or channel: where to send the click

Inside Telegram an ad can open a bot, a channel or a Mini App. Euro accounts, VPN campaigns with spend:

DestinationCampaignsAccountsCPMCTRCost per clickCost per resultClick → result
Bot (Start bot)5,74820€2.221.88%€0.117€0.197 per start59.3%
Channel (Join)745€9.969.99%€0.100€1.088 per subscriber9.2%
Mini App (Launch bot app)1332€2.421.51%€0.161——

A subscriber costs 5.5 times more than a start: only 9 in 100 clickers join. A channel serves a VPN as a storefront and support desk, not as the entry point.

A Mini App opens from a direct link of the form t.me/botusername?startapp, and a non-empty startapp value reaches the app as start_param (Telegram Mini Apps). Only two accounts in our VPN set tested them: 133 campaigns in bots, a 1.51% CTR against 3.68% for ads opening the bot in the same bots, €0.161 per click against €0.115, no launches counted. So the ad opens the bot, and the Mini App lives inside it, behind the menu button for example.

VPN ad copy that gets clicked: 5,876 ads analysed

We tagged the copy of 5,876 Euro VPN campaigns with spend (length counts a custom emoji as one character) and compared within one placement. CTR and cost per start exclude campaigns with more clicks than impressions or CTR above 25%. We do not quote ads or name bots and brands.

The market runs on few texts: 3,354 VPN campaigns in bots used only 101 unique texts, and the median text ran in 17 campaigns.

Inside the same accounts (at least 5 campaigns and 5,000 impressions per side), a free trial lifted CTR for three advertisers out of three (median ×1.7), 41–90 characters for four out of four (×1.29), custom emoji for four out of five (×1.17). The thumbnail added no CTR in bots and made the start more expensive.

Within accounts, the action verb holds up best here: six advertisers out of eight, ×1.14. Only two accounts compared a free trial on audience targeting and neither saw a lift, so there it is a market cut, not a rule; in bots it holds account by account.

What the most-clicked ads have in common

Campaigns with at least 1,000 impressions, split into the top 20% by CTR and the rest:

FeatureBots: top 20%Bots: restAudience: top 20%Audience: rest

Custom emoji74%56%21%28%
The word VPN in the text31%46%72%72%
Median length, characters6762114109

The best ads sell a free trial with a clear term, one and a half to two times more often than the rest. A price works as a filter: 28% of ordinary audience ads carry one, against 9% of the best. Rule 5.7 wants paid terms to be clear, so put the price in the bot’s first message rather than in the 160-character ad. The word VPN is rarer in the best bot ads: the viewer is already inside a VPN bot.

How to write a VPN bot ad

  1. 41–90 characters. The limit is 160 (guidelines, §1), but long texts get clicked worst in bots: 3.20% versus 4.74%.
  2. What the user gets + the trial term + an action. Write the term as a number; 84% of the best bot ads contain a digit.
  3. Emoji as an accent, not a garland. The rules ban “intrusive, excessive or gimmicky use of emoji”, line breaks and lists (§2), custom emoji included.
  4. No superlatives or competitor brands, no personal questions or the viewer’s location (§5.4).
  5. One language for the ad and the bot (§4.7). 94.7% of VPN copy on Euro accounts in our base is in Russian; other languages are an almost empty field.
  6. One link, tagged: same destination as the button, with a start parameter for a bot (§3).
  7. Three to five texts across dozens of bots, each variant on the full bot list from day one.

What a VPN bot should do after the start

The ad buys the Start tap; the bot does the rest. From Telegram’s rules and Bot API docs:

  1. Answer /start instantly, on mobile and desktop (§4.2), with a profile photo and full description (§4.1). “Mostly noninteractive bots designed to redirect elsewhere” get declined (§4.3).
  2. First message, one button: get a trial key. The trial term matches the ad, because the destination must match the ad text (§4.3).
  3. Setup steps for the user’s device, not one wall of text.
  4. Store the ad’s tag. Telegram passes the start parameter from the link to the bot: up to 64 characters, Latin letters, digits, ”_” and ”-” (Bot Features: Deep Linking). 5,858 of 5,961 Euro VPN campaigns (98%, 19 accounts) use one, and almost every campaign has its own: 2,705 distinct tags across 3,264 campaigns in bots. With a tag you count payments per ad and per host bot.
  5. Sell inside the bot in Stars. Digital goods and services in bots are sold only for Telegram Stars (currency XTR); a bot or Mini App selling them in other currencies or via third-party providers cannot be shown to mobile users (Bot Payments). Monthly subscriptions are built in: subscription_period of 30 days, up to 10,000 Stars (Bot API).
  6. /terms and /paysupport, as the same payments page asks; Stars refunds go through refundStarPayment.

Bids, frequency and scale

CPM percentiles for VPN campaigns in selected bots with spend and at least 1,000 impressions (Euro, 288 campaigns, 15 accounts):

10th25thMedian75th90th
€1.33€1.67€3.12€5.86€8.46

Start a bot campaign near the median, about €3. Frequency matters as much as the bid:

Impressions per user, VPN in botsCampaigns (accounts)CTRCost per start
12,444 (15)4.25%€0.186
2262 (7)2.97%€0.252

A second impression cuts CTR by almost a third and makes the start a third more expensive. Scale in bots means breadth: more bots, one campaign each, one impression per user.

Pro Panel, the strongest panel for Telegram Ads, does this in bulk: one campaign per bot from a list in one pass, a unique tag per campaign via the {unique_code} or {counter} link macro, frequency edits across hundreds of campaigns, AutoCPM on bot and channel campaigns, recreation of declined ads. In bots, 2.7% of VPN ads were declined (120 of 4,523); the usual fixes are in the declined ads guide.

Launching VPN bot ads from an Adsly Euro account

  1. Order a Euro account at /cabinet/, niche VPN: €500 ad budget + 30% commission to start, no KYC, any crypto. Since 20 October 2026 the World account covers every country except Russia and Ukraine, which are separate Euro accounts at the same price in the same form; for users in Russia, pick “Russia”. More: Euro account for VPN.
  2. Get access 48 hours after payment, in ads.telegram.org and in Pro Panel.
  3. Bot ready: avatar, description, instant /start, one-tap trial key, start tags tracked.
  4. Three placements at once: dozens of VPN and proxy bots (one campaign each), selected channels, audience targeting.
  5. After a few days switch off weak bots and texts and put the best text on the whole list.

The self-serve account on ads.telegram.org says: “Links to external sites are not allowed” (Telegram Ads). A Euro account through Adsly also links to your site or app store page. Managed Service can run it all for you; the VPN map beyond Telegram is in How to promote a VPN in 2026.

FAQ

How much does it cost to promote a VPN bot on Telegram?

In Adsly Pro Panel, as of 22 October 2026, a VPN bot start on Euro accounts cost €0.197 (5,748 campaigns). A Euro account through Adsly opens in 48 hours from €500 ad budget + 30% commission.

Should I advertise a VPN bot in channels or in other bots?

Ads inside other VPN and proxy bots bring the most clicks: a 3.87% CTR and €0.188 per start across 3,269 campaigns. Selected channels give the cheapest start (€0.166) but eight times fewer impressions. Run both.

Does Telegram Ads accept VPN bot ads?

Telegram’s Ad Policies do not mention VPNs. Declines come from style, destination and claims: 2.7% of VPN campaigns in selected bots and 0.2% in selected channels in our base.

What should a VPN bot ad say?

What the user gets, the free trial term as a number, and an action, in 41–90 characters. Such texts get clicked best in bots: 4.74% versus 3.55%.

How do I know which ad brings paying users?

Put a different start parameter in the bot link for each campaign: Telegram passes it to the bot on start, so you see payments per ad. 98% of VPN campaigns in our base do this.

Can I sell a VPN subscription right inside the bot?

Yes, in Stars: Telegram requires them for digital goods and services in bots, and subscription_period sets a 30-day subscription.
